Lighting circuits multiple lights from one switch. Leave the new wire free on one end so you can run it to the next light fixture. Adding an extra cable to the existing ceiling rose. Take the original hot wire from the power source the hot wire connected to the fixture and the new hot wire.

To wire this circuit in this manner you will need to run a 14 3 between the two light boxes. In this circuit two light fixtures are shown but more can be added by duplicating the wiring arrangement between the fixtures for each additional light. If there is a bare ground wire in the fixture often found in ceiling fans and exterior fixtures twist it together with the ground wire from the cable and put a wire nut on it. Twist the ends of all 3 together. Here the source is at the first switch sw1 and 3 wire cable runs from there to the first light l1. The most common is to daisy chain the light fixtures by connecting them to each other and hooking the first one up to the switch. The other way to wire multiple lights to one switch is to connect all of them directly to the switch in a home run configuration.

Then cover the 3 wire tips with a wire nut. My ceiling is 12 feet tall and i would like to run a decorative electrical chase rigid channel between two existing timbers 8 feet off the floor and drop my pendants from there. Im designing some individually hanging pendant bubble lights that are going to be suspended from a platform sheet metal metal plate or sheet of wood etc and instead of buying a bunch of independent light cords that would have to plug into a really long power strip i d like to make my own cords that would blend into one or two wires. Do the same with the 3 neutral wires.

I like to use the term daisy chain. Pigtail the wires together. To add a second light which is switched with the first one the switched line neutral and earth need to be extended to the second light. You can do this light switch wiring in one of two ways.

How to add one or more additional lights so that all are operated from the same switch. This will allow you to connect the first light as you described above and to run this additional light from the same switch by utilizing the red conductor in the 3 wire as the switched conductor and the black wire as the continuous hot wire.
